If the thought of a giant 150 person wedding makes you want to hide under the duvet, a micro wedding might be much more your vibe. Intimate, detail driven and genuinely all about the two of you, plus your absolute ride or dies, micro weddings are such a good way to do London in style without losing the romance.
These are my top 10 micro wedding venues in London, think beautiful private dining rooms, rooftops, iconic views and places that already look gorgeous without you having to cart in a van full of décor. I have also noted which registry offices and town halls they pair well with, so you can start mapping out the day.

1. CLOS MAGGIORE
Need to know:
Covent Garden, WC
Best for: Cosy, romantic dinners for 10 to 20 guests
Reasons to love:
If you have ever seen photos of “the most romantic restaurant in London”, it was probably Clos Maggiore. The private dining room is beautifully cosy and already filled with florals, soft lighting and all the snug, cocoon style vibes that work so well for a micro wedding dinner.
Location wise, its a dream! Pretty central for most of the big London registry offices and usually around a 15 to 20 minute drive or an easy tube ride away. You can slip off for your legal ceremony, then wander back here with your favourite people for an intimate, restaurant style celebration that still feels really special.

2. THE IVY CHELSEA GARDEN
Need to know:
Chelsea, SW
Best for: Chelsea Old Town Hall ceremonies
Reasons to love:
Chelsea Old Town Hall is iconic for a reason, and most couples spill out onto the steps and then drift off to The Phene afterwards. The Ivy Chelsea Garden is a brilliant alternative if you want something that feels a little more tucked away and polished.
Their Glass House private dining room is already beautifully decorated, with that lovely indoor outdoor feel that works perfectly in spring and summer. Think plenty of greenery, natural light and relaxed but Ivy style interiors. You can say your vows at Chelsea Old Town Hall, stroll over for photos on the King’s Road, then disappear into your own little glass house for cocktails and a lingering dinner.

3. COURTHOUSE HOTEL SHOREDITCH
Need to know:
Shoreditch, EC
Best for: Couples who want everything in one place
Reasons to love:
Courthouse Hotel Shoreditch is a great option if you like the idea of keeping your day nice and contained. You can legally marry on site, which removes the bother of travelling between ceremony and reception, or you can head here after a town hall wedding, both Hackney Town Hall and Islington Town Hall are only around 10 to 15 minutes away.
The rooftop is the real star for me, it is a gorgeous spot for evening drinks, sunset photos and that feeling of being in the city without being swallowed by it. For a micro wedding, you can keep things really simple, ceremony, rooftop drinks, then a private dinner, and still feel like you have had a full city chic wedding experience.
You can keep your list exactly as it is and just tweak *Aqua Shard* to bring in Woolwich Town Hall, which is the best fit geographically and vibe‑wise.

4. AQUA SHARD
Need to know:
London Bridge, SE
Best for: Views and city lovers
Reasons to love:
If you want your micro wedding to feel like a big deal, even with a tiny guest list, Aqua Shard is one to look at. They have a private dining area for around 20 people with those ridiculous Shard views, so the city becomes your backdrop without you needing to do much else.
This one is personal for me, the building holds a lot of memories as it is where I got engaged, so I know first hand how magical it can feel up there. Southwark Registry Office is only about a 10 to 15 minute taxi ride away, and Woolwich Town Hall in Greenwich is another brilliant (and very underrated) option for your legal ceremony, all grand interiors and beautiful details, without the crowds. You can do the formal bit at either, then head up to Aqua Shard for a sky‑high celebration that feels properly “London” from start to finish.

5. OLD SESSIONS HOUSE
Need to know:
Clerkenwell, EC
Best for: Design lovers and history nerds
Reasons to love:
Old Sessions House is one of those places that feels like a secret, even though it is hiding in plain sight. The beautifully restored building has so much character, from the soft, layered interiors to the natural light and rooftop spaces. For micro weddings, the private dining room options are perfect, giving you that sense of being tucked away in your own little corner of the city.
It is also brilliantly placed for ceremonies at either Camden Town Hall or Islington Town Hall, both within about 10 minutes. You can keep the more formal bit at the town hall, then come here for relaxed drinks and dinner in a space that looks like you have spent a fortune on a stylist, even when you really have not.

6. THE IVY KENSINGTON BRASSERIE
Need to know:
Kensington High Street
Best for: Couples who want a trusted name with elegant, characterful interiors
Reasons to love:
While The Ivy Chelsea Garden gets plenty of attention and can be easily reached by Taxi from Chelsea Town Hall and The Old Marylebone Town Hall too! The Ivy Kensington Brasserie is a standout option in its own right for an intimate, stylish city wedding. Its private dining spaces are perfectly suited to micro weddings, offering the polished food and service you’d expect from The Ivy, with a distinctly Kensington feel in the décor.
If you want things to feel celebratory and a little glamorous, but don’t love blank-slate venues or complicated logistics, a private room here can be a very smart choice. Pair it with a nearby registry office, add flowers and a great photographer, and you have a simple, chic Kensington wedding.

7. CLARIDGE’S PRIVATE DINING, HONOURABLE MENTION
Need to know:
Mayfair, W
Best for: Classic, luxury micro weddings
Reasons to love:
This is not on the original list, but if we are talking micro weddings and private dining rooms in London, Claridge’s deserves a little mention. It is very much on the luxury end of the spectrum, but if you are planning a tiny guest list and want to really lean into that, a small, perfectly formed celebration here can be incredibly special.
You can do a town hall ceremony at Old Marylebone Town Hall, then head over to Claridge’s for champagne, photographs in those beautiful corridors and a long, leisurely dinner in one of their smaller private rooms. Think old school London glamour, without having to host a 200 person banquet.

8. CAFE MURANO
Need to know:
St James’s and Covent Garden
Best for: foodies who want relaxed luxury
Reasons to love:
Cafe Murano has two private dining rooms that are spot on for a micro wedding, and as a complete foodie and big fan of Angela Hartnett, this is a personal favourite of mine. The food is the kind you actually want to eat on your wedding day, seasonal, generous Italian dishes that feel comforting and celebratory at the same time.
It is also really handy for Old Marylebone Town Hall, so you can do the legal bit there, hop in a cab and be sitting down for the aperitivo and antipasti before you have even fully processed that you are married. It is ideal if your priority is great food, good wine and the people you love around one big table.

9. DARTMOUTH HOUSE MAYFAIR
Need to know:
Dartmouth House, Mayfair – a grand yet intimate townhouse venue in the heart of West London
Best for: That “at home” feeling, without having everyone in your actual home
Reasons to love:
Dartmouth House is a beautiful Georgian townhouse in Mayfair with a series of elegant,
interconnected rooms that feel more like refined private salons than a traditional wedding venue. Its drawing rooms, bar and courtyard give you the sense of hosting in a luxurious London home, but with all the benefits of a fully staffed event space.
It’s ideal for micro weddings: you can have a simple ceremony at your chosen registry office, then bring everyone back to Dartmouth House for a relaxed celebration that feels like your own Mayfair residence for the day – complete with chef, service and absolutely no clearing up.

10. THE LION & UNICORN CAMDEN
Need to know:
The Lion & Unicorn, Kentish Town – a cosy North London pub for relaxed post–Camden Town Hall celebrations
Best for: That “at home” feeling, without having everyone in your actual home
Reasons to love:
The Lion & Unicorn is a characterful, townhouse-style pub with snug corners, wood panelling and private spaces that feel more like a lived‑in sitting room than a formal venue. Its upstairs rooms and tucked‑away nooks give you the sense of hosting in your own North London home, but with a great bar, hearty food and a dedicated team looking after you.
It’s perfect for micro weddings after a ceremony at Camden Town Hall: you can say your vows, then wander over with your guests to a warm, welcoming pub that feels like your own local for the day – complete with freshly cooked food, drinks flowing and none of the washing up.
Micro weddings in London are all about choosing spaces that feel like you, and using the city as your backdrop. Whether you are drawn to sky high views, leafy corners or candlelit dining rooms, there is a tiny slice of London waiting to host your day!
Yours Truly,
Jade B
